Aim of the Conference
The conference is designed to foster comprehensive dialogues on how crisis events shape the trajectory, policies, and practices of sustainable development. Recent experiences, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging significant armed conflicts, and the intensifying climate crisis, underscore the critical scientific and political relevance of understanding the effects of crises on sustainable development prospects. To successfully pivot both the European Union’s and global economies towards sustainability, it’s imperative that our economies and societies bolster their resilience to crisis events. Moreover, our responses to both present and forthcoming crises must be grounded in sustainability principles.
